Photochromic Visor For Day & Night
What is Photochromic Visor?
1. The photochromic visor automatically darkens depending on the intensity of sunlight (= UV light). This makes both possible to ride in cloudy weather, in bright sunlight and in the dark without changing your visor.
2. The “photochromic” reduces 100% of the UV rays that are equally harmful to eyes and skin. This visor makes it kind of a variable sunscreen for the eyes.
3. How fast this can be done also depends on the temperature, since the warmer it is, the faster the molecules can move and thus change. In good weather it only takes about 40 seconds from very clear to a maximum tint.
4. Please recognize our brand and the only store “Puentemys Sports” to buy. We use the most advanced self-tinting technology in China. We cannot ensure the quality from other stores.
How photochromic visor works?
In order for this process to take place, billions of molecules change their structure and darken depending on the UV rays. When the sun decreases, the visor automatically becomes clearer again.
How to clean photochromic visors?
Like any other visor, the “Photochromic” can be cleaned gently and with the usual methods.
Tips for use
Normal scratches do not reduce the self-tinting ability of the visor due to additional protective layers. However, the visor should not be permanently leaved somewhere in the sun when not in use, as permanent UV rays can damage the visor over time
Features
- Light transmission: 80%-30%
- Reduces 100% of the UV rays.
- Full activation in 2 minutes (Photochromic performance is influenced by temperature, UV exposure)

Give it a day and it’s perfect
Bought this for a Shoei RF-SR and had it for about a week now of daily riding. The first day I admit I did not like the shield. It just didn’t seem to get dark at all. After 24 hours out of the packaging it was near perfect. I have already been hit with a rock on the freeway direct on the shield and there is no mark left. The transition from clear to smoke happens quickly yet gradually enough I don’t notice it happening. I just hits me after a few minutes that the intensity of the world just isn’t. I do wish it got just a little darker but it more preference. I have yet to add my pinlock out of forgetfulness yet the posts seems similar to the stock Shoei shield.I would recommend this over the $200 Shoei transition visor. Buy this and a pin lock and you will still have $100 left over.

Barely transitions to dark unless in direct sunlight
Fit is good on a Shoei RG1200Had the visor outside on a bright, not direct sunlight area and the transition was barely smoke after 6 minutes outside.

Works great, fits a little tight
It’s hard to complain about this for the price, at least compared to the OEM Transitions visor. It snaps into place just like the OEM visor and gets dark enough to keep me from feeling blinded by low sun. Some downsides:- It is more difficult to snap this visor closed than the OEM visor. It takes more force and does not click into place as easily. Sometimes it clicks into the latch, but does not stay latched if pushed up. The adjustment tabs on the helmet help a little bit but do not totally resolve the problem.- Fitment for Pinlock inserts is just a little bit too tight. Fitting my OEM pinlock insert slightly damaged it where the insert grabs the pin. This doesn’t impact functionality.Subtracting a star for these minor issues but overall I would recommend this visor.

PINLOCK FITS, it’s just a little tight, but the visor yellowed…?
This visor has been perfect. The fit was a little weird, but nothing a screwdriver couldn’t fix. As far as the pinlock, I don’t know what everybody was talking about but I just carefully put it in and then firmly pressed on the last bit of slack while laying it down and it popped right into place. But I did just notice while taking this picture that it yellowed? I can’t tell while wearing it but from a couple feet away, you can see a distinct yellow hue. I know how to fix that in theory, but I feel like the protective coating on the front wouldn’t hold up to peroxide…

Perfect fit
Was worried about the fit but it’s perfect. My rf-1400 shoei is my all time favorite helmet in terms of comfort, venting and quietness. Its only draw back was the clear visor on sunny days. This is a must for those who need some sun protection. Fits my helmet as well as the OEM visor.

Better than expected
I put this shield on and after reading reviews and looking at some of the reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. This shield works as good as my other factory helmet visor. It takes a minute for it to get dark but it does get dark and I didn’t pay $220 for it.

Works well
I like the visor and still currently use it. In cold weather it gets very tight on the helmet which is a sign of using cheaper plastic that doesn’t change size w the temperature properly. I still recommend it, and use it. Consider buying the more-expensive shoei brand if possible.

Worth the money
Was very pleased with this product and especially the price point! It does take more force to latch closed but I rarely latch my face shields so not an issue. The pin lock issue does kinda suck but for the money I can deal with it. It gets dark enough for me and quality seems good so far but have only worn it on a couple rides so far. I put it in the freezer for a couple hours and then sat it out in direct sunlight in the heat of the day as one of my other high dollar photochromic visors told me to do to tone it. Highly recommend this affordable product.

Nice visor for price
This visor does not get very dark as pictured, but gets dark enogh to be effective. Down side is that it takes about 4-5 minutes to get fully clear.

Like a majority of reviews say…
Good bang for ur buck. Not exactly OE specs for its construction/fitment, but works well with slight modifications to the pinlock anti fog insert. Take a dremel to the U-shaped channel on both sides of the insert to make the recess larger and then install said insert on this shield, and voila.

It works
I watched a video review that was very detailed. I figured I could return it if I did not like it. Turns out after waiting for Shoei to have it in stock for more than a year, this thing works. It is also half the price.

Works as intended.
This 3rd party visor is definitely worth it.Shoei’s visor is still on backorder since last year. The transition works as intended.Side note:This is a much tighter fit and rubs on the rubber seal. You have to readjust the brackets on the side and mine works perfectly.

Fits and works very well.
Have the Shoei branded one for my rf1200 and I bought this one for my rf1400. Very pleased with results. Fits great and placing them side by side can’t tell difference in darkness. If anything this one is darker. Very happy.

Super Easy to Install
Very nice and easy to install. And, best of all, it sure beat paying $199 for the same thing from Shoei. So glad I found this option before shelling out that kind of money for an OEM part.

How can Shoei NOT provide these?
I don’t know what’s wrong with Shoei, but they are really dropping the ball lately. This will be the last helmet I buy from their brand. Glad these guys are able to provide what Shoei can’t. This thing works great and is super clear! I’m buying a second because mine will definitely get scratched up soon.

Works like the Shoei one
I was advised against buying off brand gear, but the shoei visor is on back order everywhere. This one fits but you have to force it a tiny bit. The transition goes as dark as a smoky visor. Not too dark. Shoei pinlock fits but it’s a tight fit.

Will not fit a Shoei RF-SR
Ordered based on reviews from others sating it clipped in to the helmet with no issue. The one I was sent however absolutely will not fit. You can see the visor set on top of the helmet in the photo, the pin that holds the visor in position is entirely in the wrong place. Completely unusable and being returned.

Perfect fit
Prior to install I took it out in the direct sunlight and let it get fully dark. First time took about 2 minutes and it gets to a medium smoke tint. On its own, it wouldn’t be enough for extremely bright environments in directly sunlight, but my plan was to run this visor in conjunction with dark sunglasses since I have extremely light sensitive eyes.Fit and finish is excellent. Snaps into place perfectly on my shoei rf-sr and the detents for various open positions work perfectly. It seals well when closed as well. For people wanting a “dark” visor, this isn’t it. Transition material won’t get as dark as a dedicated visor but this thing is very solid if you need one visor for a mix between day and night where carrying an extra visor isn’t feasible.

Perfect Fit
I bought this as a cheaper option for my already very expensive helmet. It fit perfectly and was correct from the list of helmets it would fit. The auto transition of the lens works flawlessly. I do need to us an anti-fog insert with it, but that is expected. It’s clear to see through without any issues. I can use this and not have to worry about sunglasses under my full-face helmet, for much less hassle between day and night. Definitely a good purchase.

Personally recommend buying the real thing from unless you’re in a pinch. Works as intended but not as well the the shoei branded visor.

Pretty good, but does its job
I wish the tint got a little darker, on bright sunny days I still need sunglasses, but adjusts great to morning light. Fits pretty well, not quite as good as a Shoei original, so it installs a little difficult and you can hear a little bit more wind.

It’s not as bad as I thought
Ok. So to get the pin lock to install you have to bend the visor back and try to flatten the pin lock. It fits way tighter than the oem visor. I’m not sure if I love that or hate it yet. The visor fits the helmet fine. It doesn’t have the same quality feel as a shoei visor to me. But it is polycarbonate according to the sticker. You can tell it isn’t shoei quality, but you’re getting a polycarbonate transition face shield for less than half the price.

Fits perfectly. Transitions as advertised
I got the transition visor. After reading the lower star reviews, I was worried about fitment. However, mine fit perfectly and I had no problem with the pinlock. I wonder if other people have the smaller or larger shell for their helmets. I’m a medium/large.The tint works great. In direct sunlight, it fully transitions within 30 seconds. It’s dark enough for me.Great alternative to the OEM 200$ transitioning visor.

Worked great… for a couple months
Visor was all I hoped for and more for a great price, and considering Shoei can’t be bothered to keep up with demand, I went for this aftermarket one.The good: fits perfectly on the RF1400 helmet. Makes a decent seal. Does what it says on the tin. Pinlock fits reasonably well. The bad: after about 2 months of daily use, this visor no longer works as advertised. The tint hardly gets dark at all even in full sunlight. Out of sunlight (indoors), it has taken on a distinct yellow tinge and just feels like it has lost nearly all of its function as a photochromic visor.I wanted to give 1 star because I feel like something like this should last more than a few months, especially for 90 bucks, but I gave +1 simply because it worked so well in the beginning and I was thrilled about it.

Works great
Fits perfectly and works great. The original pinlock fits perfectly too. The folks saying it doesn’t are probably installing it wrong. The only bad thing is that the tab to lift it is too small. The original Shoei shield has the same problem. If the manufacturer reads this you should make the tab stick out about twice as far, then you would be better than the original.

Better than expected
I was skeptical seeing’s other reviews stating how it’s too tight or the pin lock doesn’t fit but tbh you could tell me it’s a shoei brand visor and I would believe it was in fact no tighter than the oem one and the pin lock fits great and the shade changing works fantastic I’d buy it again.

I seen other people say it doesn’t fit right but if you get the face shield for correct helmet, it will fit perfectly. Another saying doesn’t get that dark but I played 20 minutes but the helmet inside and outside the house watch it get dark then back to clear again. Beats the $200 SHOEI one

Almost perfect
The visor works and fits perfectly as described with the exception of the pin lock. Using the oem eco pin lock. It did not fit this aftermarket visor. It left a rainbow in the visor but there was an easy fix if you don’t mind some arts and crafts. To fix this I cut into the pin lock membrane itself not into the visor. I added about 1 mm and then the pin lock fit perfectly into the visor. Something this manufacturer should check and update I hope. Other than that, the transition works great and it is clear. I highly recommend.

Great Alternative to SHOEI original
Great purchase in my opinion. Not a perfect fit regarding the front enclosure, as this one is slightly bigger, but it will close and does not open during my ride. It seals well, and the transition from clear to dark is fast. Does not get super dark,it gets smoke shade, but does a fantastic job of keeping brightness down in helmet. All in all, great purchase. Very happy.

Not the best
The shield definitely does not fit as well as the OEM shield in the helmet. The oem pinlock 100% did not fit in my shield at all. I even opened the pins as far as they can go by spinning them. I know how to install a pinlock and the oem pinlock was just too big for this shield. I do see some reviewers said they fit but perhaps there is some variation in the shield manufacturing. That being said, after speaking with their customer service which was very helpful, they did resolve my refund in an acceptable way. I just wish it would have worked out with the shield though.

Pinlock does not fit
The visor fits on the helmet and the visor definitely turns dark when I go in the sun. The Pinlock EVO insert does not fit on the shield with the pin set to their widest it isn’t even close. So if you purchase a shield and I’m hoping to use the pin lock you’re taking your chances. I did read some reviews that said the pinlock fit for them but it clearly does not fit for me.

No longer photo sensitive after 12 months
I really wanted this visor to work and it seemed pretty good for the first few months. Didn’t get as dark as fixed tint and didn’t quite get clear at night, but that was expected. 12 months later and I can’t see any change occurring from night to bright daylight. It is now worse than having two visors since it’s not adequate on bright days and impairs night vision.Photo shows Shoei brand smoke and clear for reference. The Amber-ish one is this product

Its nice
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to risk it with an off brand but it fit no problem on the helmet. The tint is perfect fir knocking down the brightness to a comfortable level. The pinlocks seem a little too tight together. It was my first time installing a pinlock so that might be part of it but I just can’t seem to get it to seal all the way around, there is a lifted gap at one of the pins that wont go down. The visor hasn’t fogged up so far though so I guess it works. Overall its worth the $90 I paid and I’ll buy it again if needed.

Tint is fantastic, pinlock is wrong
The changing tint is excellent. It gets dark enough for the alabama sun. It changes from light to dark and back perfectly. It fits the helmet great. However, the pinlocks do not fit the pinlock I had on the original name brand shield.

Does not block sunlight
I have sensitive eyes and wear contacts. My eyes burn every time I ride with this visor in hot and sunny days. I think it not only does not block the sun, it kinda scatters it in a way that irritates eyes. I did not have this problem with the older version that fit Rf1200. Disappointed
